Nelson AI Craft. Human-led workshops for building with AI.
Practical, human-led AI workshops in Nelson.
Give the idea direction. Learn to direct AI with structure, divide complex work into clear roles, test what it produces and remain responsible for the result.
Give the work a shape. Every idea gets a scope, a visual target and bounded roles before a single instruction is written.
Test what comes back. Inspect the result, catch the errors, and grow the next assignment only as far as the evidence earns it.
Direct the workers. Remain the creator. Use the workshop list link in the header to join.

The workshops
One method,
many subjects.
Nelson AI Craft will grow through focused, practical workshops across creative production, software, education and applied AI. The first begins with game development.
First featured workshop
Build Your First Game with AI
Develop your own focused game concept, create its visual target and establish a team of specialised AI workers. Then begin directing assets and construction through small, testable production steps.
A completed game is not guaranteed. The workshop is designed to give your idea direction, begin real production and leave you with a system capable of carrying the work forward. Sound effects, AI-assisted music and the path toward testing and publication are introduced as part of that system.

A method for making with evidence
The Creator Loop.
The Creator Loop is a practical method for turning an idea into tested, improvable work. Define the next useful change, brief it clearly, build enough to test, inspect the evidence and decide what continues. It runs the same way across ideas, lessons, media, software, business systems and games.
Press and hold. Let go and it drifts back.
- IdeaChoose one useful change and name what a good first result would prove.
- BriefTurn intent into boundaries: rules, references, responsibilities, a finish line.
- BuildMake only enough to answer the next real question, small enough to reverse.
- TestRun the work. Record what happened, not what the tool said would happen.
- ReviewCompare the evidence with the brief and decide what actually serves the idea.
- ImproveCorrect the weakest useful part, keep what works, and begin again.
AI proposes and produces. Evidence reveals what happened. The human creator decides what moves around the loop.

Useful answers
Before you join.
What kinds of workshops does Nelson AI Craft run? +
The first is Build Your First Game with AI. The same structured method carries into creative production, coding and software, AI agents, workshops for educators, practical business workflows, youth programmes and beginner AI literacy. Those subjects are directions the practice is built for, not scheduled events. Each will be announced with its own dates.
Do I need coding experience? +
No. The workshops are beginner-accessible and the production method is taught in plain language. You will still need to operate your own computer, make creative decisions, inspect results and work independently.
Will I finish a playable game? +
A completed game is not guaranteed. You will develop your own focused concept, create its visual direction, establish an AI production team and begin assets and construction. Some participants may reach an early playable state. Everyone should leave with a structured framework for continuing their game at home.
Will everyone make the same game? +
No. Each participant develops their own focused concept and visual target. Everyone uses the same structured production method, but the creative decisions and resulting games belong to the participants.
Is the workshop suitable for teenagers? +
The workshop is designed for participants aged 14 and over. A younger participant may be considered individually if they have the maturity, interest and computer confidence to participate independently. Final participation requirements will accompany the confirmed event.
What equipment will I need? +
Requirements depend on the workshop. For the first one you will need a suitable laptop and a prepared software environment, and a guided readiness check will confirm Codex, Unity and the required accounts before the day. A personal phone hotspot is strongly recommended as a backup connection. Do not purchase anything until the final preparation guide is published.
What happens after the workshop? +
You take the production framework home. The workshop begins the game and teaches you how to continue directing the workers, testing results and moving the project forward independently.
